We assist business and nonprofit organizations in devising solutions to employment and labor-management situations that affect the efficiency and productivity of their human resources, such as unfair labor practices, disciplinary procedures, Fair Labor Standards Act, arbitration, discrimination claims, and lawsuits, sexual harassment, drafting and negotiation of employment agreements, disability and workers compensation, wrongful termination cases, non-competition clauses, layoffs, wages and overtime claims and collective bargaining.

The firm has negotiated, drafted, and closed multi-million-dollar contracts for a wide variety of clients, transactions, and projects. The risk of litigation is a reality of the modern marketplace. Our approach centers on reducing said risk and procuring expeditious and cost-effective solutions to cases. We represent corporate, not-for-profit, and individual plaintiffs and defendants in both federal and state courts and in administrative procedures. We handle cases involving labor and employment, business and commercial litigation, appellate litigation, and bankruptcy proceedings, among others. Our services span all phases of litigation, including settlement negotiations, discovery, pre-trial, appeals, and post-judgment phases.

We represent creditors, including financial institutions, in business and consumer debt collection of commercial and consumer debts. Our pre and post-judgment collection efforts include filing lawsuits, garnishments and other liens, foreclosure of mortgages, recording liens over real and personal property, evictions, and obtaining and executing judgments in state and federal court. Creditor’s rights are also represented in bankruptcy proceedings.

The firm represents business and nonprofit entities regarding intellectual property rights, including copyrights, trademarks, and commercial or trade names. We handle the registration, acquisition, protection, and dispute resolution of intellectual property assets, both under the laws of Puerto Rico and of the United States, as well as issues regarding moral rights, work-for-hire agreements, visual arts, and derivative works.

The Firm provides cost-effective immigration services to domestic and international companies. Our attorneys advise on U.S. immigration matters in a wide range of visa categories (such as L-1, HB-1, and other investment visas) to ensure the effective international movement and relocation of employees and executives into the United States. Our areas of practice include support in obtaining Labor Certifications issued by the US Department of Labor as well as temporary visas and permanent residency for business, managerial, and executive personnel.
